If a check is cashed at a check cashing business with a notarized POA and is returned as not good, who is responsible?
If the individual who cashed the check (the attorney in fact) was acting on behalf of the individual who granted the power of attorney (the principal), the principal would be liable to the check cashing business. If the attorney in fact was acting outside his/her authority, he or she would be accountable to the principal.
