Can a bank get into trouble for cashing a cashier's check they issued to a dealership and myself if I did not sign it?
That depends on whether the payees on the check were connected with the word "and"; whether you were denied any share of the funds to which you were entitled; whether you obtained any benefit from the check even though you didn't sign it; and whether you file a claim as to any of the foregoing.
It sounds like the check was for the purchase of a vehicle from the dealership. If you got credit in a vehicle purchase transaction by handing the check over to the dealership, the fact that you didn't endorse the check is pretty much immaterial: the purpose for which the check was issued was accomplished.
