I have a cashier's check from April 2008, is this expired?
Cashier's checks do not expire, but it's a good idea to cash them soon after receipt, because at some point the claim to the funds can be surrendered to the state under abandoned property laws. Even after a cashier's check is surrendered to the state, the funds can be reclaimed, but the process is somewhat more cumbersome than simply cashing the check.
