If I cash a check at my bank, which was written on a different bank, and don't deposit it but just recieve cash, will there be a record of it on my account?
No, because the check was neither credited nor charged to your account. The bank that cashed it will have a record of the transaction, and the bank on which the check is drawn will be able to determine that the check was negotiated at your bank.
