What Can I Do About Lost Cashier's Check?

Will I ever get my money? The post office lost my cashier's check, and the bank wont give me a new one. What if someone else cashes it meantime?

Your state's laws probably give you the right to file a claim with the bank that the check was lost, stolen or destroyed. The bank can require that you wait ninety days from the issue date of the lost check before it reimburses you.

Cashier's checks are a valid claim on the bank that issues them. If the bank were to reimburse you before the ninety day period ended, it could be required to pay the original check, even though it gave you the money. In that case, it would have the right to pursue you to recover its funds.
