Limit to Amount of Cashier's Check?

What is the largest amount for which a bank can make out a cashier's check?

As a practical matter, such a check would probably not exceed the limit for automated check processing. In the U.S., that number is $99,999,999.99, because the dollar amount encoding field is limited to ten characters.
