There is no stale date for a cashier's check. It remains an enforceable obligation of the issuing bank until it is paid.
The funds represented by a cashier's check, however, are subject to a state's abandoned property laws. After the period required in the state's laws and regulations, funds from an unpaid cashier's check must be transferred to the state's custodian of unclaimed property (normally the state treasurer's office), where they can later be claimed by a party with a legal interest in the check.
