I was supposed to receive a check from an apartment complex for which I previously worked. The manager told me that she sent my check to me on 2/10/10. It has been twenty days since it was mailed and I still have not received it. I made sure the mailing address was correct and I've called her numerous times. I keep getting the run-around. How can I find out if the check has been cashed or find out if it was even delivered, and what can I do to get my money?

The bank on which the check was drawn will not be able to discuss the question with you, since you aren't its customer. Give the manager another call. If you don't get the information you need, you may need to pay her a visit to plead your case.
