Does a business have the right to require that its bank require an endorsement from a payee on a cashier's check that the bank issued for the business?
A cashier's check is an obligation of the bank, not the business. A bank doesn't change it's policies and practices that are designed to conform to the Uniform Commercial Code for an individual customer. The bank should require the endorsements necessary to demonstrate that the check was properly paid.
