Depositing Cashier's Check puts Account in Negative

I deposited a cashier's check and was told that a seven day hold would be placed on it, but when I checked my account, there are multiple transactions with this one check. One is for the amount of the actual check and the other two are for a $100 dollar difference. Now my account shows a negative for double the amount of the deposit. What does that mean and why?

Make a telephone call to the bank. Your narrative suggests that the bank was apprehensive about the legitimacy of the cashier's check for some reason, so it placed a hold on the deposit. It also looks like your account may have been charged twice for the check on its return. However, this is strictly speculation, and a call to the bank should help get things straightened out.
