Tracing a Cashier's Check

My grandmother recently passed away. In a box of receipts we found a customer's copy of a cashier's check that was made out to me. I never received this money. Is there any way to trace who received it? There is no bank or account number on this customer's copy.

You can ask the bank if the check is still outstanding. It could have been voided and marked "not used for purpose intended" and the funds used for something else.
