Cashing Old Cashier's Checks

My father gave me eight cashier's checks, made out to him, which he endorsed, in November 2009. He told me to keep them safe and use them if needed. He passed away in July 2010. I still have them. Can I cash them? It has been determined that they are not a part of the estate since he gave them to me nine months before his death.

Those checks should still be valid for cashing. There should not be a problem if your father was known by the bank that issued them and you are equally known to them. Contact the bank for details on how to proceed.
