A client gave me a personal check and his bank statement says he has $1,000, but when I went to cash it, they said he has no funds. Where can I cash this check?
Unless your client puts money into his account to cover the check, you should not cash it at all, because you'll have to pay the money back when the check gets bounced by his bank. Check back with his bank again to see if the funds are there. If they are, go there to cash the check, and do so quickly. You will need identification that's acceptable to that bank.
If you are not able to cash the check, your client will still owe you the money. You can ask for cash or a bank check in exchange for the useless piece of paper you're holding. If that doesn't work, you can decide whether you want to take legal action to get your money.
