Cashing an Estate Check

I received an estate life insurance check from my brother. It is made out: Estate of: and his name, then my name at the bottom of his. Will my bank cash it?

When a check is payable to "stacked names" (one above the other with no wording like "and" or "∓") as payees, the check is payable to either payee, and either can negotiate it, but your bank could require an endorsement from both you and the representative of your brother's estate, the administrator or executor, as a condition of accepting it for deposit.
