I received a check that was accidently ripped in half. Is there any way to still cash it without getting a different check written out to me?
If you take the check to the bank it's drawn on, you might be able to cash it without a problem. However, a tear in the check might be a problem for automated processing between banks. If you can't make it to that bank, or if they refuse to cash the check, you'll be left with the option of asking for a replacement.
