Just Married; No Joint Account Yet

We just got married and have checks payable to Mr and Mrs. We have no joint account. Can I sign the back and have my husband sign as well, and deposit into one of our single accounts?

Bankers see this happen all the time! Have at least one account that is jointly owned, simply because there will be joint tax refunds ahead and other things payable to you both as time goes by. Ask the bank holding one or both of the accounts whether you can both endorse those checks and deposit them to one or the other individual account. Ask the bank for guidance on how it wants Mrs. _______ to endorse.
