I have a checkendorsed over to me. I live in Mexico as a Mexican National and my bank won't let me deposit. The check is drawn on an American bank. The option of canceling and sending by wire is not an option.
Ask your bank to send the item for collection. They send the check to the paying bank. If that check is good, that paying bank will send a cashier's check back which your bank should be able to honor.
