Signing a Check Over to Another

Am I able to sign over my state check to another to cash? How do I do this?

You can do it, but it would be wise for that other individual to make sure that he or she can actually cash it. It is becoming increasingly difficult to cash checks that have been endorsed twice. If you decide to go ahead, the preferred way to endorse the check is:

Pay to [name of the other party]
[Your signature].
