Check Two Months Old: Still Good?

My rental company has issued a TCF National bank check for a refund. I couldn't find validity date on it; it is two months since the date it was issued. What is validity period for this kind of check? Do I have to ask for new check?

Unless there is a legend on the face of the check indicating a shorter period, you should be able to rely on a validity period of at least ninety days from the date the check was issued, assuming it's a cashier's check. After ninety days, it should still be valid, but the bank could honor a claim that the check had been lost, destroyed or stolen.
