We bank at Wells Fargo. Can we cash checks there that are from people who don't bank at Wells Fargo?
That depends on Wells Fargo. It is certainly not required to cash those checks for you, but it may accommodate you based on your customer relationship. Be aware, however, that you will be on the hook to your bank if any of those checks should bounce. In many cases, a bank would ask its customer to deposit checks they receive from others, allow sufficient time for them to be paid, and then use the funds by withdrawing from his or her account.
