I just found an escrow balance refund check from May, 2007, that says "Void after 180 days". It's from Countrywide, who is now Bank of America. Is there anything I can do? Where is this money now?
Since it's only been two years since the check was issued, the funds are probably still on deposit, but could be surrendered to the state as abandoned property within the next year.
Contact a BofA office to ask about how to pursue a replacement for the old check.
