Cashing Check Three Months Old

I received a check on June 2, 2009. Because I'm partially disabled due to a TBI and have memory loss, I just found it. Is it possible for me to still cash it? The person who wrote it is aware of my condition.

Three months is not ordinarily too late to cash a check, unless there is a legend printed on the check that indicates it is void after 30, 60 or 90 days. Checks over six months old can be summarily rejected by the banks on which they are drawn. Bouncing a check for being three months old isn't likely to happen without a warning on it.
