Cashing a Check Endorsed to Me

My mother signed over two checks to me so that I could take care of some business for her. How am I to cash these when I do not have a checking account? I was involved in a 'fiasco' and now I'm unable to get an account.

You will have to find a bank or check casher that will honor the endorsement to you. This may be difficult, especially if you don't have your mom's ID to more clearly identify that she did in fact sign them over to you. This includes trying to cash them at the bank on which they are drawn. A better solution would have been to deposit them in her account and have her give you a check that you could cash somewhere.
