If I receive a check that I would like to deposit in one of my accounts, can I just endorse it with the bank account number that I would like to deposit it into or must I endorse the check with a signature?
A complete endorsement includes a signature, and a signature can be provided in a lot of ways. Technically, your bank can accept your check for deposit without any endorsement at all, but it may not be willing to do so. Although the law would permit you to deposit the check without a signature, remember that your bank has the last call on whether it will require one.
