I receieved a check today with regard to my retirement, which I receive yearly. When I took it to the bank, which is a branch of the larger bank which issued the check, they could not give me the money . When the check was run through, of course they entered the account number and the routing number. They received a message "refer to maker no checks drawn on this account". Now, this is a huge well-known bank. The woman at the bank said the check may have been pulled from an old account and the check would bounce whereever I took it. Could it mean anything else? What does all this mean ?
It suggests that whoever is responsible for issuing your retirement payments made an error. Contact the issuer to voice your concerns and to determine how the error will be remedied.
