Payee Names Separated by Semicolon: What?

I received a check made out to myself and another person. Our names are separated only by a semicolon. Does that mean only one of us has to endorse the check in order to deposit it or do both of us have to endorse it?

The semicolon is not the equivalent of "and", so an endorsement by either payee should be enough to deposit it. Be aware, however, that your bank might want to be extra cautious and require both payees to endorse this check.
