Getting an Old Check Reissued

I have a check that was issued April 8, 2008 by an insurance company. I just found it today and want to know if I should ask to have it reissued. The check was issued to cover damages done to my car by a truck driver who works for this insurance company.

Most definitely, contact the insurance company and ask for a new check in exchange for the old one. Checks more than six months old can be rejected for payment by the banks on which they are drawn. When you receive the replacement check, cash or deposit it promptly.
