Does Stop Pay on Check go Against Credit Rating?

I was given a check for $1000.00, which I cashed at my bank with no problem. Yesterday my husband went to the mac machine and it showed our balance was $1000.00 less than it should be. I called the bank, and they said there was a stop payment on the check when they sent it to the bank that has that account, so my bank took $1000.00 out of my account to cover it. Is that going to go against our credit rating? I still don't have the problem resolved, but I just want to know if this goes against us.

The return of the check should have no effect on your credit rating at all. What adversely affects a credit report is a bank report noting that it has closed down a checking account for customer mishandling or charged off an overdrawn balance.
