Removing a Number from the Back of a Check

I have a couple of checks that I was going to deposit into my bank account, so I wrote the checking account number on the back. That bank account was closed and I've since had to start up a new bank account. How do I go about changing the checking numbers on the back so the checks will clear?

If you are concerned that your bank will have a problem accepting the checks for deposit, take them in and ask. All you will have to do is line through the invalid numbers. The fact that the numbers are there should have no effect on the clearing of the checks.
