In most cases it will not effect your credit rating. You should provide the funds to the bank if they are not still there. If you don't resolve that with the bank, the amount could be charged off. At that point, it could be reported to a company that specializes in deposit accounts, and/or the bank could report it as a loss.
Again, this was a check from someone else that you deposited. Your rating shouldn't be affected by it, assuming you make the bank whole. You may have an additional fee from your bank as they had to reverse the deposit. You my be able to pass that fee on to the person who gave you the bad check.
