Given Check from Closed Account: What to do?

I sold a puppy to a couple. They wrote a check. Now I recieved a letter from my bank saying that their account is closed. What legal options do I have? Now my account is overdrawn and I have more charges on it also. I have tried contacting then, but so far, no response.

You can talk to the police. If the check amount is large enough, they may be willing to pursue the matter as a check fraud case.

If that won't work, you can find out about the small claims court requirements in your state. You may be able to bring an action there that will result in a court judgment against the puppy thieves.
