I just started a new job, but I don't live with my family because I don't get along with my mother, so I stay with a friend. I just got my first check, but my license has my old home address on it, but I used my friend's adress to have my check sent to me where I stay. Will I be able to cash my check? I didn't know it was going to come with my friend's address on it. Will this be a problem?
The discrepancies between the addresses may or may not present a difficulty. We simply don't know what the policies and procedures of an individual bank or check cashing business are; you'll have to make a direct inquiry to know for sure.
If possible, open a bank account and have your future pay checks direct deposited there. You'll need to satisfy the bank of your address and identity only once, instead of having to deal with it each time you try to cash a check.
