Should I cash a check that is made out to me "or" XYZ Company?
If the word "or" appears between the two payee names, either of the payees can cash the check without the other's involvement. However, be aware that your bank might take a more conservative stance and require both endorsements. Such a policy is needed not in this case, but it could confound your plan.
