I have a check from Banque Nationale du Canada, drawn in US dollars, and want to cash it. Where do I go?
Take the check to your bank and ask whether it is drawn on BNC's Canadian offices or payable at a U.S. bank. If it's payable at a U.S. bank, you should be able to deposit it into your account and wait for it to clear.
If it is not payable in the U.S., your bank may be able to accept it for deposit (there may be a fee) or for collection (there will be a fee). Ask the bank about the cost of either option that's available.
