I have a check made out to my husband and I, and there is no "and" or "or", just our names: his first, then mine right under his. Can I deposit it in my own checking account without his signature?
Although your bank might require both signatures, only one would be required to make the endorsement legally complete when the payees' names aren't joined by the word "and" or an ampersand. Before endorsing the check, ask your bank about its policy.
