Second Party Check

My mother-in-law gave us a check from her bank that is made out to her, and endorsed the back of it. Can I just deposit it in our account?



Often your bank will require your mother-in-law to be there with her ID to evidence her signing it over to you. Otherwise, many banks will not accept the risk that the check was validly signed over.
