Depositing Joint Tax Return

My husband and I file our taxes jointly. I happened to endorse the refund check, but will not be present at the bank when he goes to deposit it. Will they require me to be there; will they allow him to deposit it into his account, or do we need a joint account?

In most cases the bank will want to see your ID to accept the deposit. Some banks may refuse the deposit to an individual account because there is increased liability when dealing with the IRS and their ability to recover funds if you, even years later, claim you didn't receive benefit of the deposit. Call the bank in advance.
