Is it illegal for my employer to post date my paycheck?
Post dating a check that you or I write is generally allowed, and is generally not binding to whomever the check goes. Sometimes employers write checks for payday so that items printed today may be dated a few days from now. That would be the payday.
If you are receiving a check today, your designated payday, and it is dated for two weeks from now and you are asked to hold that check, contact your state attorney general or a lawyer familiar with employment issues. It doesn't sound good for you or your employer.
