I recently closed an account that I had with my grandmother (she was the custodian), who passed away three years ago. I am over twenty-one. Can I deposit the check that I will be receiving into my own personal account?
If the check is payable to you individually, you should be able to deposit into your account without a problem. If it is payable to your grandmother as custodian, you'll need to ask the issuer to send you a new check that you can deposit yourself.
