Cashing Check Made out to Child

I recently received a check that was made out to my newborn child. Can I cash it myself or do I have to open an account under his name?

In most cases, you should be able to take the check to your bank, explain who the payee on the check is, and then endorse the check for your son, as his parent. That will be particularly easy if the bank already knows you well and is aware of your happy event.
