I received a check from a company as a fee for investigating. The company uses the same bank that I do. I have read that checks can bounce several months later. The check has cleared and it has been several weeks. Is there any possibility that the funds will be debited from my account?
Anything could happen, but the rules are on your side at this late date. Other than your endorsement, which won't be an issue if you deposited the check to your own account, the bank wouldn't have any reason to charge the check back to your account after one banking day had elapsed after you deposited the check.
