Depositing a Check Sent to Deceased Relative

My mother died three years ago. Recently a refund check for $15.00 came to my house in her name. What should I do?

You could go to the trouble of writing to the party that issued the check asking that it be reissued in your name (if you are your mother's only heir). If the issuer will only reissue to your mother's estate, it might be a lot more trouble than it's worth to negotiate the check in that form. Frankly, for that amount of money, it might just be easier to forget about it.
