Am I Charged for Foreign NSF Checks?

I received a check from Canada and deposited it into my account. If that check returns as NSF am I required to pay anything to my bank?

Your bank will expect you to pay them back for the check, and they are entitled to the money. You endorsed it, and received the benefit of the funds. Why would you expect that the bank would absorb the loss if the check were to bounce?
