What does it mean when a check has "Not Valid For Cash" printed on it?
It could only be speculated what would be meant in a given case, not knowing the type of check, etc. A best guess would be that the check was issued for a specific purpose that requires it be deposited to the payee's account, or used only as a form of discount for a service or goods to be purchased by the check's issuer, but a definite response could not be made without seeing the check and any literature that came with it.
