Cashing Check Made Out to Cash

My husband and I received a payment by check that was made out to "Cash". The check is from a business account. Are we going to be able to cash it? Is there anything that we need to do to cash it?

Take the check to your bank (where you are known) and ask if it will cash it or take it for deposit. If you have any problems there, contact the bank on which the check is drawn to ask if it will honor the check if you bring it there to be cashed. There's certainly nothing illegal about writing a check to "Cash", but its a poor practice, because the check can be cashed by anyone.
