I bought a car with a cashier's check. The dealer gave me the check back when I returned the car a week later; however he had already endorsed it. How do I go about getting my money back with the endorsed check?
Talk to the issuing bank. If the dealer is able to supply a letter confirming that he gave you back the check because the deal was rescinded, the bank should be willing to exchange the check for credit to your account or for another cashier's check payable to you. If the bank won't do that, ask the dealer to go ahead and deposit the cashier's check to his account and give you a check from the dealer's account to replace it.
