Is there a time limit for stopping checks already deposited and credited to my account? I am a consultant and was told that a client can remove previous checks. Is that correct?
Once those checks have been paid by the banks they are drawn on, and one business day has elapsed since the payment, it is too late for the drawers of the checks to stop payment.
