Endorsed by Mistake

I received a check payable to a creditor to forward to my creditor; however, I endorsed it, and it is not payable to me. Can my creditor still cash the check although I endorsed it in error? Can I cross my name out or does it need to be reissued?

Untitled

Go ahead and draw a single line through your endorsement, and send the check along to your creditor. If your creditor has a problem with receiving the check that way, you'll get a phone call or letter, but there shouldn't be a problem.
