Writing a Personal Check

Is there a limit on the amount for which one can write a personal check?

Untitled

This is only controlled by the amount of money in your account available to pay that check. Some businesses will impose internal controls by indicating on the check that it is only good for some stated amount, such as $5,000. Often that is not binding on the part of the bank, but is for the business writing the check.
