Am I required to print my U.S. checks in English? Can I write them in Spanish and have them processed?

Writng your checks in Spanish is not recommended.
If your bank, or any other bank, for that matter, should attempt to read the amount written in words and be unable to understand it, the bank could refuse to process it. Although it's probably accurate to say that the percentage of bank employees who could read such a check is getting greater, there remain large numbers of banks where a Spanish-language check would present a challenge.
